Paraíso Tropical

Sueño Tropical is an immersive exploration of my connection to two places at once, navigating themes of presence, memory, existence, and the sacrifices made for a better future. Homesickness is a recurring experience in my daily life as an immigrant, shaping both my identity and my artistic practice. Moving to Canada as a teenager forced me to navigate cultural differences, new languages, and feelings of displacement, which continue to influence the way I create. My work responds to these emotions by exploring how personal memory and physical space intersect. Ultimately, the work honours immigrant experiences of longing, memory, and belonging.
